Start with space, not a schedule
Guests staying at Alpine Lakeview Resort have complimentary access to the thermal circuit from 07:00 to 21:00. The circuit includes a Finnish sauna, a lower-temperature bio sauna, a steam room, a cool mist shower, a warm relaxation room and an outdoor soaking pool. Treatment appointments are separate and should be reserved before arrival, particularly on weekends.
A good half-day begins with water and ten quiet minutes in the lounge. Move gradually from the warm room to the sauna, cool down gently and rest before repeating. There is no benefit in rushing between heat experiences. Guests with cardiovascular conditions, pregnancy or medication concerns should speak with a health professional before using thermal facilities.
Choosing a treatment
Alpine recovery massage
The 60-minute recovery massage combines moderate pressure with slow work on calves, shoulders and lower back. It suits guests arriving after travel or a demanding hike. Ask for lighter pressure if you are new to massage or plan to hike again the following morning. The current rate is CHF 145 for 60 minutes and CHF 195 for 90 minutes.
Lake-stone ritual
This 90-minute treatment uses warmed stones, a full-body massage and a short scalp ritual. At CHF 220, it is our most popular choice for a celebratory stay. It is deeply relaxing rather than therapeutic, so it is not the right option for acute injuries or guests who dislike heat.
Mountain facial
The 50-minute facial focuses on hydration and barrier support after dry mountain air. The therapist begins with a consultation, making it suitable for sensitive skin when products and fragrance are discussed in advance. It costs CHF 130. Guests with active skin conditions should check suitability before booking.
How to build the day
For the best balance, schedule a treatment between 14:00 and 17:00. Hike in the morning, shower and eat a light lunch, then arrive 15 minutes early. Avoid a heavy meal and alcohol immediately before treatment. Afterward, drink water and leave at least an hour before a larger dinner. The lounge has herbal tea, fruit and still or sparkling water.
Couples may book consecutive appointments, but simultaneous rooms depend on therapist availability. A parent and teenager can request adjacent appointments from age 16. The spa is adults-oriented; children aged 12 and over may use the thermal area from 10:00 to 16:00 with an accompanying adult. Swimwear is required in the mixed thermal areas.
Booking, cancellation and value
Reserve treatments at least two weeks ahead for peak dates. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before arrival are charged at 50%; missed appointments are charged in full. A treatment is not required to enjoy the thermal facilities, so a pool-and-sauna morning is the more economical choice. Day spa access for non-residents is CHF 85 when capacity permits.
The spa's strengths are its calm scale, thoughtful circuit and easy connection to the pool. The limitation is that it is intentionally quiet and compact; guests wanting a large destination spa with many specialist rooms may prefer a city property. Here, the reward is a simple, repeatable ritual that fits naturally around mountains, meals and sleep.
